A Forest Glen mom started Twenty-One Senses. She saw a need for support focused on families who have children with sensory disabilities. Did you know that one in six children have sensory sensitivity and is associated with 20+ diagnoses, including Autism, ADHD, and PTSD? In the past year, we have been able to reach over 18,000 families with our free online resources!
FUNDrive Donations include:
- Clothes (in bags) – men’s, women’s, and children’s clothes, coats, shoes, scarves, handbags, wallets, fashion accessories, ties, belts, backpacks, etc.
- Household Textiles (In bags) – bedding, comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, linen, tablecloths, curtains, pillows, etc.
Please use bags for clothes and textiles . All items must be clean and in sellable condition. No Furniture.

Some common questions you might have about our FunDrive
Where do I drop my items off?
Your donations can be dropped off at 4923 W. Balmoral Ave until September 17th.
How will my items make a difference?
Your donations will go towards helping families who have children with sensory sensitivities who are struggling to get the resources they need. The proceeds from our FUNDrive will help those who need reduced or free resources get access to the tools they need.
What happens to my items?
Twenty-One Senses has partnered with FUNDrive, a nonprofit fundraising platform, to take your donated items and sell them in the FUNDrive store. FUNDrive will sort and either resell your items, gift your items to third world countries or recycle any items that are not able to be sold or gifted.
Do you collect large items or furniture?
No, unfortunately, we can only take items that can fit in garbage bags. Here is our list of donation suggestions!
Do you take old shoes?
Yes, we do take old shoes as donations but we ask that your shoes go in bags like the other soft items to be donated.
Do you take books?
No, unfortunately, we can only take items that can fit in garbage bags. Here is our list of donation suggestions!
Will you take strollers or car seats?
No, we are sorry, but due to safety concerns and recalls we cannot take these items. We will gladly take your other donations, in either bags or boxes! Here is our list of donation suggestions!
Can I use large bags for clothes and textiles?
While most of our donations come in a kitchen (13 gal) bag, you are free to use bigger bags for your donations.
Where can I leave my items for pickups after the yard sale?
You can bring your left over items to 4923 W. Balmoral and leave them on the porch on September 17th.
Do you you have a limit on how much you would take?
No, we have no limit on how much we take, we only limit the type of items we take. Here is our list of donation suggestions!
How long are you collecting items?
We are collecting items up until September 17th for our FUNDrive. .
Do you partner with other organizations that do large sales such as a church sale?
Yes, we see those partnerships as a great way to add a service to your events and still help another mission. You get the cleanup and we get the donations, to arrange a partnership please contact Rebecca Klueg at (708).543.3916
How will I get my tax letter?
We will hand out tax forms similar to the goodwill receipts, you can fill in the amounts and add it to your tax materials. For those who drop off items, please leave your name and address on your items and we will get the tax form to you.
