Help us Fill the Trucks! Donate your unwanted items to support Twenty-One Senses.
On Saturday, September 16, 2023, the Forest Glen neighborhood has its annual community garage sale. We participate in this event in a couple of ways: we host a yard sale in the neighborhood at our founder’s home, 4923 W, Balmoral Ave, 60630, we collect unsold goods from our neighbor’s sales at the end of the day, and we turn all of the physical goods into a monetary donation to help support the neurodiverse community.
Did you know that one in six children has sensory sensitivity and is associated with 20+ diagnoses, including Autism, ADHD, and PTSD? Our free online resources have reached over 47,000 families in the past year!

FAQs
Some common questions you might have about our the Drive.
Where do I drop my items off?
Your donations can be dropped off at 4923 W. Balmoral Ave; Chicago 60630, until September 16th. Bags and Boxes can be left on the porch. It would help if you could mark it with a note saying Fill A Truck. If you would like a tax receipt please fill out the form above asking for one. If you do not need a tax receipt, no need to fill out the form.
How will my items make a difference?
As a 501c3, we can turn in goods for a monetary donation. The clothes are then used to help low-income families, and we use the funds to bring more sensory supports, like calm rooms, to community events, which allow families who have children with sensory sensitivities to attend events that are otherwise. The proceeds from our drive will help those who need reduced or free resources get access to the tools they need.
Do you collect large items or furniture?
No, unfortunately, we can only take items that can fit in garbage bags and boxes. Here is our list of donation suggestions!
Do you take old shoes?
Yes, we do take old shoes as donations, but we ask that your shoes go in bags like the other soft items to be donated.
Do you take books?
Yes, please box books, magazines, textbooks, etc… into boxes.
Will you take strollers or car seats?
No, we are sorry, but due to safety concerns and recalls, we cannot take these items. We will gladly accept your other donations in either bags or boxes! Here is our list of donation suggestions!
Can I use large bags for clothes and textiles?
While most of our donations come in a kitchen (13 gal) bag, you are free to use bigger bags for your donations.
.Where can I leave my items for pickups after the yard sale?
You can bring your leftover items to 4923 W. Balmoral, Chicago 60630. Please mark them with a note saying Fill-A-Truck and leave them on the porch. On September 16th we’ll be taking the last of the donations and putting them right into the truck which will be parked right outside.
Do you you have a limit on how much you would take?
No, we have no limit on how much we take; we only limit the type of items we take. Here is our list of donation suggestions!
How long are you collecting items?
We are collecting items up until September 16th the day of the Yard Sale.
Do you partner with other organizations that do large sales such as a church sale?
Yes, we see those partnerships as a great way to add a service to your events and help another mission. Lots of organizations, communities, and families don’t want to deal with getting rid of a lot of goods after their own sale or clean up. We’ll come and take it for you! To arrange a partnership please contact Rebecca Klueg at (708).543.3916
How will I get my tax letter?
We will hand out tax forms similar to the goodwill receipts, you can fill in the amounts and add it to your tax materials. For those who drop off items, please fill out the form above, and we will get the tax form to you.
